Patient Zero, or also known as movie team said Patient Z, is an upcoming 2017 American-British horror thriller film which is written by Mike Le and directed by Stefan Ruzowitzky. The film stars known faces of Hollywood including Matt Smith, Stanley Tucci, Natalie Dormer, Clive Standen, AgynessDeyn.

Movie recording started on March 3, 2015, in London and Screen Gems officially announced to release the film on February 17, 2017, worldwide.

The first look at the film’s trailer was screened by Screen Gems board at Comic-Con a few weeks back. The trailer begins with a man called Smith who can speak and communicate with the zombie-like species who are assuming control over the planet. Production of the movie

 

The script for the film was the subject of a war between a famous movie production studios including Silver Pictures, Fox Searchlight Pictures, Broken Road Productions, Davis Entertainment, Donners’ Company, Vincent Newman Entertainment and Misher Films.

The script is about the apocalypse of the world and about a man who needs to discover a remedy for his zombie infected wife else she would die. Screen Gems managed to win the bidding war, and Vincent Newman was set to produce the movie through his Vincent Newman Entertainment productions. Austrian director Stefan Ruzowitzky was approached to direct the film, and he agreed for the same on May 2, 2014.

 

Natalie Dormer’s included in the movie and it was publicly reported in September 2014 soon followed by Matt Smith joining the crew in November.

 

Filming of the movie

 

Leading photography on the film started in London on March 3, 2015. On March 9, the shooting was in progress at Shepperton Studios in England. Filming continued in London through April 18, 2015. They have additionally recorded in Welwyn Garden City on April 15, 2015, where a SWAT van and auto were seen on set.

 

Release date

 

In August 2015, Sony Pictures Entertainment officially announced that the film is set to release on September 2, 2016. But due to various reasons on April 28, 2016, the film was postponed to February 17, 2017, release.
